Chale’s browser.
Chale is a personal assistant for people in Ghana, made by WMS Africa. When someone asks Chale about a website, or to do something on one for them, Chale’s browser opens it. This page is for the people who run those websites.
What it does on your site
It opens the pages one person asked for, for that person only, one at a time. It doesn’t crawl.
It reads a page to answer the person who asked, and gives them its address.
It acts on a site only for that person, and only what they approved. Sign-ins, bot checks and payment details go to the person, on their own phone.
How to recognise it
It looks like an ordinary Chrome browser. What marks it as Chale is its signature: every request is signed with HTTP Message Signatures (Web Bot Auth), tagged web-bot-auth, with a Signature-Agent header naming its key directory:
https://api.saychale.app/.well-known/http-message-signatures-directory
The directory serves the Ed25519 public key as a JSON Web Key Set, signed itself. A request that doesn’t verify against it isn’t from Chale.
If something’s wrong
Email chale@wms.africa with the page’s address and the time, and we’ll look into it.
